What Customers Say About Cuisinart WMR-CA Round Classic Waffle Maker:

I don't make waffles very often, so I wasn't looking at buying something super-expensive for only occasional use. Pros: efficient space-saving design, easy to storeCons: rear hinge does not expand up, so when the waffle expands during cooking it opens the front of the waffle maker, venting the steam directly onto the handle, and making the waffles cook unevenly. The price seemed like a good value, and the reviews were mostly positive. However, this waffle iron had enough design issues that I returned it after the first use. At first I thought I was putting too much batter on the iron, but after several creative batter-pouring and spreading attempts I continued to have the same problem. Uneven cooking, steam burns on my hand when I tried to open the maker, and shoddy construction that allows the top plate to wiggle significantly from side to side when moving the unit were enough to convince me it was not worth the money or the headache.

The main benefit of this waffle iron is that it is so easy to clean. The interior non-stick surface is well made and does not scratch easily. The drip edge is not very large, but it is adequate to prevent spills. The exterior of the iron is smooth and free of crevices, as such, if a spill does occur it can be cleaned quickly. This waffle iron also has a quick reheating time between waffles, saving time during long waffling sessions. Considering the low price, this iron is a great value

I like how I can choose to make my waffles a little crispier if I desire. I received my own Cuisinart Classic Waffle Maker for Christmas 2008. I like it so well that I purchased one to give as a gift on Christmas 2009. I make a full recipe and put the extras in the freezer so that I can pop them in the toaster at another time. I am very happy with this product.

Turn the setting to 2, put the mix on and take the waffle out as soon as the green light goes out. I love this waffle iron. Perfect waffle. It gets hot very quickly and cooks very quickly. Plug it in to warm at the 1 setting. *Only fill the center of the iron or it will run over the sides. If it does, it's not hard to clean off.

It was still there on day 5, but not strong. I think the knob provided some resistance so that the temperature control wouldn't flop all around. It was very strong at first but diminished over the next 4 uses. We saw that too. This waffle iron felt more substantial than others, the price seemed good and we liked the heat control and the 5 year warranty. We have upgraded to a more expensive Oster flip. It felt really loose and because the attachment method was broken, there was no way to put the grey knob back on and have it stick. Actually, it broke off and the metal tong that it attached to was free to disappear from the base.

Total time: 30 days since purchased, 5 uses. The book says not to spray - that didn't work for us.The big problem happened after waffle day 5. Other reviewers complained of the smell - especially when new. Bottom line: We are very disappointed and have returned the unit. For our recipe we found that the only way to ensure no sticking was to spray the upper and lower surfaces with oil before each batter. Just cleaning the iron with a cloth and the grey "handle" on the temperature selector came right off. Very disappointed and we are not getting another one. Fingers crossed.
